We believe that our pupils’ spiritual, emotional and cultural health and well-being are as important as their academic. We pride ourselves on the wide range of curriculum opportunities, strategies and approaches that we employ in order to ensure our learners are prepared for the next pase of their educational careers and for life in general. In order to achieve this we use a variety of approaches to support the planning and delivery of:
Our PSHE curriculum is woven into everything we do, including our curriculum themes. To compliment this we have also adopted Jigsaw to ensure all discrete areas of the PSHE curriculum are taught to the highest possible standard. Jigsaw sessions are delivered by the class teacher at all times as our pupils have told us they enjoy having time to reflect and discuss these ideas with the teacher they spend the majority of their time in school with and trust.
“Jigsaw PHSE brings together social, health and academic education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in a lesson-a-week programme. Jigsaw is a mindful approach to PSHE; it aims to help children know and value who they are, and how they relate to other people in this ever-changing world.”
