We had a fabulous time at the Arboretum. We learnt all about bees and their different markings. We played games where we pretended that we were bees collecting nectar and also made some beautiful natural art. Thank you to all the parent helpers that came with us.
As part of our Growing topic the children have watched the life cycle of butterflies in their class rooms. We have watched them grow and transform before our very eyes. Today was a special day because we set them free underneath the oak tree.
Sports Day 27th June
We all had a fantastic time taking part in different races on Sports Day. We bounced, ran, skipped and egg and spooned across the finishing line whilst a crowd of proud parents watched and cheered.
Here are photos of us being brilliant.
During Sports Week, all the Reception Classes took part in a variety of activities including dancing, team building races and circus skills. Here are photos of the children enjoying the circus skills equipment and discovering hidden talents.
The Reception classes have been learning about minibeasts. They have been exploring the school grounds looking for them.
We are reading the book 'What the Ladybird Heard' by Julia Donaldson to inspire our learning.
Forest School - learning in the woods
The Reception Classes have enjoyed Forest School this week.
Forest School offers children a chance to learn and develop confidence and self esteem through hands on learning experiences in a natural environment.
The children enjoyed looking for sticks of all different sizes which they then made into wooden wind chimes. The wind chimes are now happily hanging in the Reception outdoor area.
EYFS Christmas at Stoke Lodge Primary School
This week the Reception classes performed their nativity The First Christmas. The children all sang beautifully and enjoyed performing in front of their families.
